General Information

IFC of MS is a soccer development program that competes in the D1 level in many tournaments across the Southeast, providing individual development in order to achieve program success.

IFC players are committed to their team for the 2018-2019 season.  This season will run from August 2018 until completion of League play and tournaments in 2019.

Players who accept a position with an IFC team will be required to review the player code of conduct, as well as submitting their letter of intent and acceptance payment.  The link to this form will be added to the website and emailed to players after the coach has spoken to the players parents and be giving a verbal commitment.

IFC teams will practice typically 2 nights a week.  Teams will practice at local fields based on the majority community represented on the team.  Tournaments and League play will be based on the coach’s assessment of the team’s skill level.

Who should tryout?

Tryout Stages:

  • Pre-Registration:  Players will need to pre-register on our website to allow us to ensure proper staffing for tryouts, make registration faster, and provide requested tryout jersey size.
  • On-Site Check In:  Players should arrive 30 minutes early to check in. Players will receive an IFC tryout jersey with number at check-in for the first tryout and should wear it to all subsequent tryouts to ensure the player is properly identified.
  • Evaluation:  The tryout process will occur over several days where players are evaluated based on: their technical ability, tactical/game awareness, their speed of play, their overall attitude towards fellow players and individual character exhibited during tryouts. During the tryout process evaluations from multiple staff coaches will be taken into account to ensure that the decisions being made are fair and objective.  Shin guards are required for tryouts, along with soccer cleats and water.
  • Team Forming:  Teams will form based on age and skill levels necessary to insure proper development of each player.
  • Player Notification/Communication: Coaches will call and offer players using the contact information provided on the tryout registration.
